Binondo fire now under control

A fire that struck a 5-story residential building beside the Binondo Church on Friday has been placed under control by 2:02 p.m., according to the Bureau of Fire Protection.

The fire reached the fifth alarm before being placed under control by firefighters from the Manila Fire Department.

According to Fire Officer 1 Charlene Coloso, firefighters responded to the scene at around 11:58 a.m.  Arson investigators are currently at the scene to conduct  initial investigation.  No casualties have been reported as of posting.  /muf
