Bato wants to be a senator but leaves fate to Duterte
If he would have it his way, newly installed Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief, Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, said he would like to run for senator in next year’s elections.
Dela Rosa revealed this on Wednesday when asked, in an interview over ABS-CBN News Channel, to choose between running for senator or governor of Dave del Sur.

Article continues after this advertisement“Senado, kung ako ang masusunod ha,” the former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief said. “But then again, I must say it clear na hindi ako pwedeng susuway sa kagustuhan ni Presidente.”
Article continues after this advertisement“Kung ano ang gusto n’ya, he’s the one who made me, malaki ang utang na loob ko sa kanya. Kung ano sabihin n’ya dun ka, tulungan mo ‘yung probinsya mo sa Davao Sur, doon ako,” Dela Rosa added.
If President Rodrigo Duterte would also ask him not to join politics, Dela Rosa said he would willingly heed his boss’ advice.

At this point, however, Dela Rosa said he and the President are still discussing if he would either run for senator or governor. /kga
