Comelec spox: Report illegally placed posters of barangay, SK poll bets
On the first day of the campaign, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has urged the public to report any violation committed by candidates in the 2018 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections.
In particular, Comelec spokesman James Jimenez is asking the public to report any illegally placed campaign poster.
“In-encourage natin ang publiko na magreport sa atin, at kapag nakatanggap kami ng report, pinapapuntahan namin sa aming local officials para ma-validate kung talagang nandoon ang materials,” Jimenez said.
“Ang problema nga lang dyan, syempre, baka ‘yung mga sinisisita natin dyan, ang sasabihin, ‘Hindi, kalaban ang naglagay nyan’,” he added.
Even so, the Comelec official said that they would still tear down the campaign poster.
“Kaya humahaba ang proseso (dahil dyan), but sundin man natin ‘yung proseso, ang gagawin talaga natin ay babaklasin ‘yan,” Jimenez said.

Jimenez said that Comelec personnel have been mobilized and that election forms and supplies were set to be delivered to all villages a week before election day, May 14.
“Nagpapadala tayo ng election forms and supplies, and by Monday (May 7), tapos na iyan for most of the country. By Monday, ang kulang na lang natin na papadalan ng election supplies ay sa NCR,” Jimenez said. /muf
