2 farm workers found headless in Maguindanao

ILIGAN CITY – Unidentified suspects killed and beheaded two farmhands in Parang, Maguindanao on Friday evening, a report from the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Police Office said Saturday.

The report, which the Inquirer obtained, identified the victims as Ceasar Deamada Fermin, 42; and Jabon Bistas, 21, both residents of Barangay Calawag in Parang.

The ARMM police said based on initial investigation, the victims sought the farm owner’s permission around 9 p.m. Friday that they be allowed to sleep in the building where a kiln used for drying coconut meat was put up.

The building is about 200 meters away from the farm owner’s house. The farm owner was not identified.

Around 5 a.m. Saturday, the headless bodies of the two victims were found near the kiln-dryer.

No suspect and motive had yet been established, the ARMM police said. Investigation was ongoing.
