South Korea MP sets off tear gas canister in parliament

SEOUL—South Korea’s ruling party abruptly called a full parliamentary session Tuesday to try to pass a free-trade agreement with the United States, prompting an opposition MP to let off a tear gas canister.

TV footage showed legislators coughing and wiping their eyes after the canister went off next to the speaker’s rostrum, forcing the deputy speaker to flee.
