MANILA, Philippines – Parts of the country will experience cloudy skies and scattered rains as a northeast monsoon and an intertropical convergence zone affect Luzon and Mindanao, respectively, the state-run weather bureau said Tuesday.

In its weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao would experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Skies will become cloudy and will bring widespread rains over the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon and Visayas which may trigger flashflood and landslides, Pagasa warned.

Meanwhile, the rest of Luzon will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers.
No existing tropical cyclones were monitored within the Philippine area of responsibility, Pagasa added.

“Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Northeast with slight to moderate seas,” Pagasa said.
