Gunmen kill man and 7-month-old daughter in North Cotabato

COTABATO CITY – Unidentified gunmen killed a 44-year old man and his seven-month-old daughter and injured three others as they opened fire on a house in Midsayap, North Cotabato on Sunday evening, the police reported Monday.

Supt. Gilbert Tuzon, chief of the Midsayap Municipal Police, said the incident took place in Barangay Malingao around 7 p.m. Sunday.

He identified those killed as Musa Sadang and his seven-month old daughter Malaiha.

Injured were Jehan Buacan, 18; Melanie Buacan, 13; and Princess Kusa, 10 – all of them relatives of Sadang’s.

“The victims were having dinner inside the house when the gunmen arrived and opened fire,” Tuzon said.

The gunmen immediately fled as the police responded, he said.

Tuzon said the motive and identities of the gunmen were still being ascertained. /atm
