4 drown in Bulacan waterways, resort
CITY OF MALOLOS—Two children, a teenager, and a 43-year-old man drowned in resorts and waterways in Bulacan in the last few days.
On Thursday morning (April 12), the remains of two boys aged 8 and 15, were found floating at Bitbit River, at the foot of the Angat Dam in Norzagaray town.
A rescue team from the Bulacan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) said the two boys have been missing since Wednesday (April 11) when they took a dip near a tunnel system and spillway of the Angat Hydro-electric power plant.
The PDRRMO said the plant was discharging water at the time the boys decided to swim with two other companions, who were rescued by fishermen.
On Tuesday (April 10) in Calumpit town, Arnelio Tenorio was swept away by a strong river current when he responded to a cry for help from children in the water along Pungo village at 6 p.m.
On April 6 in Bulakan town, a 7-year-old girl drowned in a private resort in Barangay (village) San Nicolas.
