DID YOU KNOW: Incidence of domestic violence varies by region

/ 05:00 AM April 10, 2018

The preliminary findings of the 2017 National Demographic and Health Survey released by the Philippine Statistics Authority showed that women’s experience with violence by a partner or husband varies by region.

In the National Capital Region, 16 percent of the ever-married women reported experiencing physical, sexual or emotional violence.

Ever-married women are women who have been married at least once in their lives although their current marital status may not be married.

In Caraga, 52 percent of ever-married women reported experiencing physical, sexual or emotional violence. —Marielle Medina
