Faith healer hacked, shot to death in Cebu
CEBU CITY — A 79-year-old faith healer was hacked and shot to death on Monday evening in Sitio Saksak, Barangay Uwak, Asturias town, Cebu, about 74 km from Cebu City.
The victim was identified as Emiliano Bantoy, who suffered two gunshot wounds in the head and back of his body and multiple hack wounds.
His wife, Juanita Jubay Bantoy, 75, who sustained wounds in the head, survived.
PO3 Ervin Pjugarap, police investigator, said that the victims came from their farm when two unidentified men parked their motorcycle in the area.
One of the men asked the faith healer to come with them in Barangay Pilit, Balamban, a neighboring town, but Emiliano refused.
A few minutes after they left, the two men came back, armed with a gun and a bolo, which were used in the killing Emiliano and hacking his wife. /atm
