2 motorcycle riders charged for resisting police

Marikina City police officers on Thursday arrested two motorcycle riders for refusing to stop for a security check and resisting orders from authorities.

Arrested were Edwin Doinog and Maricel Mansera for ignoring Community Precinct 5 policemen conducting security check along Paraiso Street in Barangay Parang.

The policemen flagged down Doinog and Mansera but the two continued to drive, prompting the authorities to chase them, according to a spot report.

Upon the suspects’ apprehension, the police asked for Doinog’s driver’s license but he refused and even shouted at them.

The suspect later handed over his license, which turned out to be a student permit.

The suspects would be charged with violation of Republic Act 4136 or Resistance and Disobedience, and Alarms and Scandals, the report stated.

Meanwhile, authorities arrested Jay-Ar Balane for snatching the cellphone of Girlee Andulan walking along Ampalaya Street in Barangay Tumana, Marikina City.

The suspect was set to undergo inquest, the spot report stated.
