PNP on full alert for Holy Week, summer vacation

Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa on Friday inspected bus terminals in Cubao, Quezon City ahead of the Holy Week vacation.

The PNP is on full alert from March 23 to June 13 for Oplan Sumvac or Oplan Summer Vacation 2018.

Dela Rosa inspected the security measures being implemented at the terminals and personally checked on the passengers during his visit. Joining him in conducting the inspections was National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Oscar Albayalde.

Thousands of passengers are expected to flock to the different airports, bus terminals and ports for various vacation destinations starting Holy Week.

While there are no reported threats of terrorism, Dela Rosa said the PNP does not want to be complacent.

He asked the public to call the PNP hotline at 2286 and 911 should they have police-related concerns or have observed anything suspicious in their surroundings.    /muf
