BI implements quarterly reshuffle of officers at Naia
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Thursday announced that officers assigned at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s (Naia) three terminals will be reshuffled on a quarterly basis as part of the bureau’s anti-corruption and service improvement program.
BI port operations division (POD) chief Marc Red Mariñas made the announcement after he revealed that about 500 officers stationed at the arrival and departure areas at Naia terminals were reshuffled.
Mariñas said the reassigned immigration officers started reporting to their new assigned terminals on Thursday.
The rotation of BI officers was implemented barely three months after Mariñas ordered a reshuffle of immigration personnel at the arrival and departure areas of Naia’s three terminals–Naia Terminal-1, Naia Terminal-2 and Naia Terminal-3.
“As a result of this latest rotation, every immigration officer assigned at the Naia was transferred from his or her presently assigned terminal to any one of the two other terminals at the airport,” Mariñas said in a statement issued by the BI.

The scheme, he explained, also aimed to raise the employees’ productivity, adding that the last time the rotation was implemented was in December of 2017. /jpv
