1 hurt in 5-vehicle collision in Laguna

ALAMINOS, Laguna — At least one person was rushed to a hospital while a still undetermined number of passengers sustained minor injuries following a multiple-vehicle collision in this town before noon on Sunday.

In a phone interview, Alaminos police chief Sr. Inspector Jan Albert Rongavilla said the accident happened before noon along the national highway in Barangay (village) 2.

He said initial investigation showed that a trailer truck hit a bus after the truck’s brake malfunctioned.

“(The truck) then hit two cars and another vehicle,” he said.

The police have held the truck driver. As of this writing, authorities are still in the area clearing the accident site. /je
