‘I will resign’, Bong Go tells Senators, if ‘intervention’ in frigate deal proven
Secretary Christopher “Bong” Go has offered to resign during a Senate hearing on Monday if proven that he had intervened on the Philippine Navy’s P15.7 billion frigates project.
“Your honor, nandidito naman lahat ng gentlemen from the Philippine Navy. Sir, since nandito na din tayo, pwede n’yong isa-sahin lahat kung meron ba akong tinawagan, tinanong o nag-influence man lang ako para ibaligtad? Isa lang,” Go said in the hearing of the Senate committee on national defense.
“Pag may nakapagturo, paglabas ko rito, I will resign. ‘Pag merong nakapagsabi na if (I) intervened, kung meron man,” he added.
Go reiterated that earlier reports by Rappler linking him into the frigates deal controversy were “fake news.”
He also branded as “malicious” the title of the Rappler article – “Bong Go intervenes in P15.5 billion project to acquire Philippines warship.”
