The Mayon volcano continues to pose a threat to the province of Albay as a weak lava fountaining episode and an ash plume were observed on it Sunday morning.

The Philippine Institute of Seismology and Volcanology (Phivolcs) recorded a sporadic lava fountaining event with booming sound and ash eruption with a height of 500 meters at 10:38 a.m.

FEATURED STORIES

He said the agency was not able to record the height of the lava fountain since the volcano was partially obscurred by clouds.
