Systems failure forces 4 MRT-3 trains to return to depot
The management of the Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) was forced to pull out four of its trains from operations on Wednesday morning after detecting systems failure in its electrical components.
MRT-3 media relations officer Aly Narvaez said that four of its trains had an “electrical failure in motor,” causing the number of trains plying the stretch of Edsa route at a minimum.
Narvaez said the management of MRT-3 decided to pull out the affected trains in order to prevent unloading of passengers when the problem happens while moving with passengers on railroad tracks.
She said with the decision, no passengers were unloaded.
With the removal of four affected coaches, the number of working trains as of this posting was down to nine since 12 noon.
