Worn out components resulted in another “electrical failure” in one of the trains of the Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3) and led to the offloading of 800 passengers on Tuesday.

Passengers were offloaded at the southbound portion of the Ortigas station at 8:21 a.m., a report by the MRT-3 said.

The service disruption was caused by “worn out electrical sub-components” such as insulator, regulator, and main chopper, the report said.

MRT-3 officials have apologized to passengers and sought patience from the riding public saying new, replacement parts were on the way.

Affected passengers were loaded on a different train which arrived eight minutes later. /cbb
