Duterte to cancel permits of mining firms paying revolutionary taxes

/ 01:24 AM January 27, 2018

DAVAO CITY – President Duterte on Saturday warned mining firms against paying revolutionary taxes to the New People’s Army (NPA).

The President said he will cancel the permits of mining companies, which will continue to support the NPA, which he said was bent on destroying the country.

This was also the same reason, he said, that he would not talk with the rebels anymore.

“Itong NPA, totodasin ko. The talks are over. I will go after the legal fronts,” he said.

Duterte also urged members of the indigenous communities to abandon the NPA, saying the rebel group had been fooling them for so long.
