7 rescued after boat capsizes in Romblon

SAN PEDRO CITY—Seven people were rescued from the sea after their boat capsized in the waters off Romblon province Tuesday evening, the police said Wednesday.

According to a report from the police in Romblon town, the boat was hit by big waves as it was in the vicinity of Romblon and San Agustin towns around 9 p.m.

The boat capsized but the passengers clung to the vessel until they were able to call for help from the office of Romblon mayor Mariano Mateo.

The police and the Philippine Coast Guard were able to rescue all seven passengers identified as Danny Manlolo, the boat skipper; John Paul Manalo; Luduvico Juanzo; Michael Lacida; Tirso Rojo; Lyca Ada; and Kimberly Beltran.

The victims were brought to the Romblon District Hospital.#
