Comelec sets public hearings on Mindanao poll postponement

/ 04:44 AM January 19, 2018

Mindanao residents who want the May 2018 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections postponed in their region due to the continued imposition of martial law on the island should speak up.

Commission on Elections(Comelec)  spokesperson James Jimenez, on his blog, www.jamesjimenez.com., appealed to voters to not just be “spectators to democracy” when the poll body holds public hearings in Zamboanga City on Jan. 22, in Cagayan de Oro City on Jan. 23, and in Cotabato City on Jan. 29. —JULIE M.
