‘Tanggal Bulok’ drive nets 200 PUVS on first day
More than 200 public utility vehicles (PUVs) were flagged down on the first day of full implementation of the “Tanggal Bulok, Tanggal Usok” campaign of the Inter-Agency Council on Traffic, an official of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) said on Thursday.
Radyo Inquirer 990 AM, in its report, quoted LTO Enforcement Service director Francis Ray Almora as saying that a total of 210 PUVs were flagged down during the inspection.
Most violations recorded were PUVs with defective lights and worn out tires with 184 cases while 26 PUV drivers were warned by the LTO for smoke belching.
Five PUVs were impounded and their drivers were given 24 hours to appear before the LTO for a road worthiness examination. /cbb
