Prices of diesel, kerosene rise for 4th straight week

Oil firms on Monday raised pump prices for diesel and kerosene for the fourth consecutive week due to the usual movements in international prices.

Starting 6 a.m., prices of diesel went up by 55 centavos per liter while those of kerosene rose by 30 centavos per liter.

Those that already announced price changes included Petron Corp., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., PTT Philippines Corp., Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc., Eastern Petroleum Corp., Flying V and Seaoil Philippines Inc.

All these firms raised diesel prices while Petron, Shell, Flying V and Seaoil raised the prices of kerosene — which the rest don’t sell.

Based on data from the Department of Energy, diesel prices in Metro Manila are now in the range of P33.55 to P38.65 a liter while those of kerosene will now be between P38.16 and P47.80 a liter.

Prices of premium gasoline with an octane rating of 95 did not change and remained in the range of P43.05 to P52.91 a liter. —Ronnel W.Domingo
