CARRANGLAN, NUEVA ECIJA—Army soldiers clashed with 10 suspected communist rebels at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday but no one was hurt.

The Scout Platoon of the Army’s 84th Infantry Battalion recovered two assault rifles when the armed men withdrew from the battle scene in Barangay (village) Bunga.

The military said the platoon went to Bunga due to reports that armed men were sighted there.

In October, nine rebels were killed in an encounter in Barangay Burgos, also in this municipality. Armand Galang INQ
