Monsoon to bring more rains over Luzon
There’s no storm or any weather disturbance affecting the country, but prepare for more rains over Luzon due to the northeast monsoon and the tail-end a cold front, the state weather bureau said Friday.
In its 4 p.m. forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said rains would continue to pour over Luzon, while Visayas and Mindanao would experience clear weather with isolated rain and thunderstorms.
The southern part of Luzon – particularly the Bicol and Calabarzon regions – and the Mimaropa region will have scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the the tail-end of a cold front, which is the boundary of the hot and cold air.
Light to moderate rainshowers will affect Metro Manila as well as the northern and central parts of Luzon due to the northeast monsoon or amihan.
Pagasa also raised gale warning in parts of northern and central Luzon and southern part of southern Luzon due to high waves measuring from 2.8 to 5 meters.
Affected areas are Batanes, Calayan, Babuyan, Cagayan, Isabela, Ilocos provinces, La Union, Pangasinan, Aurora, Zambales, and northern Quezon, including Polilio Island. /atm
