PAF chopper makes ‘precautionary landing’ in Negros Occidental

A Huey helicopter of the Philippine Air Force made a precautionary landing in Negros Occidental after it encountered a “complete electrical/ power failure” Thursday noon, the military said.

Air Force spokesperson Maj. Aristides Galang said the UH-1 with tail number 516 was performing its mission when it encountered the problem and made an emergency landing along the Hinigaran and Binalbagan highway past 12 noon.

“Pilots decided to perform the said landing to check and correct such discrepancy as a standard procedure for safety,” Galang said.

The problem was later fixed and the chopper has returned safely to its destination. /jpv
