‘Hitman’ arrested in Negros Occidental

Police arrested an alleged gun-for-hire in Negros Occidental on Tuesday morning, the PNP said.

Suspect Alfredo Eden, alias Nene Maong, is the fourth wanted hitman in the town of Don Salvador Benedicto, according to a report that reached the PNP Public Information Office.

According to authorities, members of the local police and the provincial Special Weapons and Tactics team arrested Eden inside his house at Sitio Buri, Barangay Kumaliskis, Don Saldavador Benedicto, at 5:45 a.m.

The lawmen were armed with a warrant for the arrest of the 55-year-old suspect who was facing charges for the murder of a policewoman’s husband.

Oolicemen seized a 9-mm submachine gun, and two loaded gun magazines from the suspect.

Eden is in the custody of  Don Salvador Benedicto police station. /cbb
