Tugade assures public: ‘We are doing our job’
Amid growing complaints about the current situation of the transport sector in the country, Secretary Arthur Tugade repeatedly assured on Monday that the Department of Transportation (DOTr ) is quietly doing its job to address the concerns of the public.
“Nandito ho kami para makiisa at makipag kapit-bisig sa inyo para sambayanan. May hearing o wala, Ma’am, members of the committee, ginagawa ho namin ang aming katungkulan…,” Tugade said during the hearing of the congressional oversight committee on Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
The hearing is being presided over by Senator Grace Poe as chair of the Senate committee on public services.
“We are doing our job… Maybe our job is not best. It has to be best…,” Tugade said.

“Babaybay at pupunta ho kami sa mga airport, wala hong media yan. Bakit hindi nyo tanungin saan ako galing over the weekend? Bakit hindi ko dyina- dyaryo yan?” he asked.
“We are doing our job following the mandates of this administration, following the good governance that had been laid down by the leadership of this administration, including President Duterte and Speaker Alvarez and Senate President Pimentel,” the transport chief further said. /kga
