With supporters standing by her side, Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno saw no reason why she should turn her back on the people despite a bid to remove her from office.

Sereno spoke about her struggles in a short message after the Mass organized by her supporters at the Parish of the Holy Church in the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quzon City on Thursday.

Sereno believes there is now an “awakening” among ordinary citizens as they start to ask the importance of truth, justice and righteousness.

The top magistrate also called on everyone to give hope a chance.

/kga
