Arroyo bent on flying to Singapore to keep medical appointment

MANILA, Philippines–A spokesperson of Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is bent on catching a plane to Singapore today in order to keep her 12 p.m. appointment with medical specialists in Singapore on Thursday.

Elena Bautista Horn told the Inquirer that Arroyo would go to the airport later Wednesday even though her doctors have advised her to rest after Tuesday’s stand-off at the airport where she was blocked by Bureau of Immigration authorities from boarding her Dragon Air flight to Singapore.

“We have no choice but to try again because we are fighting for her right. The DOJ has no choice but to respect the SC decision because it received the TRO as of 8:20 this morning,’’ said Horn.

Horn said Arroyo would consult with doctors in Singapore on her bone disease, hypoparathyroidism, before going to Spain which was her final destination.
