DID YOU KNOW: It’s Population and Development Week

/ 06:25 AM November 23, 2017

Population and Development Week is observed from Nov. 23 to 29 by virtue of Proclamation No. 76 signed on Oct. 20, 1992, by then President Fidel Ramos.

The proclamation highlights the need for an invigorated and intensified campaign to address problems in the pace of the Philippine population growth and the country’s capability to provide for the growing nation.

The Commission on Population, in cooperation with the Department of Health, is tasked to lead the activities related to this observance. —Marielle Medina
