Duterte: Gov’t to acquire 23 attack helicopters

President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday said the government would acquire 23 attack helicopters to boost the country’s military capability.

“Meron tayong acquisition na 23 attack helicopters, yun suficiente na yan for a… yung mga rebellion, rebellion,” Duterte said in a speech at the Army General Hospital in Taguig City.

“So lahat ng bibilhin ko para sa inyo, puro bago. Wala nang purchases ang…sa panahon ko, yung Armed Forces pati police na second hand. Bago lahat at gagastos tayo,” he added.

Duterte was at the Philippine Army headquarters to visit soldiers wounded in action recuperating at the Army hospital.

The President awarded the Order of Lapu-Lapu to 26 wounded soldiers confined at the military hospital.

He awarded Kamagi Medal to the soldiers. The medal is given to officials and personnel of government, as well as private individuals, as recognition for their invaluable service in relation to a campaign of the President.
