Magnitude 2.6 quake jolts Legazpi
LEGAZPI CITY — A magnitude 2.6 earthquake jolted this city Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said in a bulletin.
The Phivolcs bulletin said the quake felt at around 3:01 p.m. was of tectonic origin located at 15 kilometers north and 21 degrees west of this city with a depth of 14 kilometers.
No damage was reported although the tremor was felt in the city center and neighboring towns of Daraga, Camalig and Sto. Domingo.
Earlier on Saturday night, a series of earthquakes also of tectonic origin hit Albay province. In Sto. Domingo town, the tremor had a magnitude of 3.2 which was followed by a 2.4 magnitude quake and another 2.7 magnitude earthquake in this city.
No damage to public and private infrastructures were reported. /je
