No official declaration yet on non-working holidays for Asean—Palace

There is no official declaration yet of non-working holidays in Manila in November during the country’s hosting of the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit and Related Meetings, Malacañang said Thursday.

Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella issued the clarification after a supposed Malacañang document has been circulating online, declaring November 13 to 15 as special non-working holidays.”

“It’s not official but I’m sure a statement will be forthcoming,” Abella said in a Palace briefing.

Malacañang had suspended government work and classes in some parts of Metro Manila during the Asean Summit at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in April.

The Philippines will host this year’s Asean Summit of the 10-nation regional bloc where meetings of leaders and top diplomats will be held in Manila and Clark in Pampanga on November 10 to 14. /je
