Man tagged in robbery-rape of 2 women gets 20 years

A man accused of robbing and raping two women inside a “colorum” van in Quezon City last year has been sentenced to 20 years in prison on drug charges.

The Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 100 found Wilfredo Lorenzo guilty beyond reasonable doubt of drug possession in violation of Section 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Lorenzo, who remains detained at Quezon City Jail, was ordered to pay a fine of P400,000 for shabu possession during his arrest on June 13, 2016.

Lorenzo was also charged with three counts of robbery with rape.

Along with accomplice Alfie Turado, the two men robbed and raped two women passengers inside the van before dumping them in a Novaliches parking lot.

Both men were later arrested, but Turado ended up dead inside a police van, allegedly after grabbing the gun of a police escort.
