5.1 magnitude quake hits Cagayan

A 5.1 magnitude earthquake jolted Cagayan Wednesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The quake was recorded at 6:08 a.m., 33 kilometers southwest of Calayan as its epicenter.

The tremor was tectonic in nature, Phivolcs said.

The quake was felt at Intensity 2 in Laoag City and instrumental Intensity 2 in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, and Sinait, Ilocos Sur.
