School alumni hold medical mission

More than 200 patients were given free medical, pediatric, dental, optical and surgical services by the Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu Alumni Association during the group’s medical mission last Nov. 5.

The whole-day activity was held at the Early Education lobby Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu in barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.

Services such as medical consultations were given to 60 patients, pediatric checkup to 54 children, minor surgery to 13 patients, tooth extraction, filling and cleaning to 80 patients and eye checkup to 22 residents.

Medicines were also distributed to all beneficiaries, mostly residents of barangay Canduman.

The medical mission was supported by the school and the 2011 SHS-AAA Board of Trustees, headed by project chairperson Marcelino Co.

Doctors, optometrists, dentists, surgeons, nurses and the school’s scouts and cadets also volunteered for the activity.
