LPA to bring rains in Cagayan, other parts of Luzon

A low pressure area near Catanduanes is expected to intensify into a tropical depression within the next 24 to 36 hours, the state weather bureau said midday Tuesday.

The latest weather system will bring light to moderate rains and occasional heavy rains associated with isolated thunderstorms over Cagayan Valley and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

The LPA was last spotted 730 kilometers east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes. Frances G. Mangosing / JPV
