UC to defend NSBC title in Dagupan
NEWLY CROWNED Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. champions University of Cebu Webmasters will try to defend their title in the 64th edition of the National Students Basketball Championships, which kicks off early next year in Dagupan City, Pangasinan.
The games will be played on February as announced by Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP) secretary-general Graham C. Lim yesterday.
The said host has agreed to organize the events through the leadership of BAP Region 1 director and Dagupan city Mayor Bebe Fernandez.
Sen. Antonio V. Trillanes IV, the BAP president, also visited Dagupan City last Nov. 4 for ocular inspection and approved the initiative of the regional BAP officials to hold the games at the Dagupan City Sports Complex.
The Webmasters, with 6-foot-10 giant Junemar Fajardo, lorded over the rest of the competition and reigned supreme in last year’s staging of the competition in Butuan. Correspondent Jonas Panerio
