Pagasa: Tropical storm ‘Jolina’ gears toward China
Expect an improved weather on Sunday as tropical storm “Jolina” (international name: Pakhar) heads toward China as it exit the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) late Saturday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its 5 p.m. weather bulletin that Jolina is moving out of PAR as it was last spotted 280 kilometers west of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
Jolina continues to pack a maximum sustained wind of 80 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 95 kph.
Pagasa said all tropical cyclone warning signals have been lifted.
The weather bureau said light to moderate with possible occasional heavy rains will continue to prevail over Ilocos region and the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, and Metro Manila. JPV
