CABANATUAN CITY –Two suspected robbers were killed by police officers whom they reportedly tried to victimize on Monday night (Aug. 14) in Kapt. Pepe Subdivision at San Josef Sur village here, a belated police report said on Wednesday.

Supt. Ponciano Zafra, city police chief, said Edmar Trinidad and Albert Aguilar, attempted to rob at gun point a police team, which included female police officers, at 11:00 p.m.

The police team was deployed to the area because of numerous hold-up cases there, Zafra said.

The suspects engaged them in a gunfight after realizing “their prospects were policemen,” he said. JPV
