Did You Know: Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino set up in 1991

The Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF), which is tasked to undertake, coordinate and promote researches for the development, propagation and preservation of Filipino and other Philippine languages, was established by virtue of Republic Act No. 7104 signed on Aug. 14, 1991.

The KWF’s vision is to make Filipino a modern language which can be used as an effective instrument for national development.

The commission holds office at Malacañang Complex in San Miguel, Manila. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
