Pagasa: Fair weather seen due to ‘habagat’ break
The country will continue to enjoy fair weather until next week, the state weather bureau said on Friday.
In a telephone interview, weather specialist Nikos Peñaranda of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said that this is due to the southwest monsoon or “habagat” break.
He said habagat break happens during the rainy season, adding that this is not the first monsoon break since the start of the wet season.
A ridge of high pressure area continues to affect Luzon and Visayas, according to the bulletin issued at 4 p.m. by Pagasa.
It said that the country will only experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies.

Article continues after this advertisementPagasa also reported that Luzon will only experience light to moderate winds blowing from the south to southwest. Light to moderate winds blowing from the southeast to south will also prevail over the rest of the country.
