Tourists can learn about Cebu through text message

The ordinary tourist can now access information about Cebu through text.

The project which is called “Access Cebu”, is a collaboration between the Cebu provincialgovernment and two private firms.

Its aim is to continue to make Cebu the number one tourist destination in the country.

Anyone who wishes to learn about Cebu can text ACCESS <space> CEBU and send to 2278.

Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia together with Payvenue and Globe Telecom signed the agreement yesterday to implement the project as soon as possible.

Garcia said that Cebu had been on top because the province was united.

Countryside businesses is seen to benefit from project because their businesses will be exposed to potential investors or buyers from people who will avail of information about Cebu through text message.

Garcia together with Breznev Tero, managing director of Payvenue; and Hoyle Raul Disuanco, cluster sales head of Globe Telecom in Visayas and Mindanao, signed the agreement for “Access Cebu.”

The province will be tasked to provide information about local government units, its local tourism sites, and services from various cities and municipalities in Cebu.

Payvenue will facilitate the collation of appropriate data and information for its content from the province.

Globe Telecom will implement the project.

The Access Cebu project is another tourism project of the province, which has been actively promoting sites in the countryside through its Suroy-Suroy Cebu project.
