Man accidentally shoots self in penis, faces gun charges

Talk about a double whammy.

An American man based in Florida, USA,  accidentally shot himself in his nether regions after unwittingly sitting on a loaded gun.

To make matters worse, he faces criminal charges for illegal possession of firearm.

According to the Huffington Post, 38-year-old Cedrick Jelks unconsciously sat down down on the pistol placed in the driver’s seat of his car over the weekend.

Once his buttocks made contact with the trigger, the gun went off and directly hit him in the groin.

Jelks, whose car was parked just outside his girlfriend’s home, managed to dash inside the house and went straight to the bathroom. He was then assisted to the hospital, where his status remained unclear, as of this writing.

Authorities, meanwhile, investigated the cause of the wound and found that the victims had a previous conviction for cocaine possession—making him ineligible to own and possess a gun.  Khristian Ibarrola /ra
