DID YOU KNOW: National Dengue Awareness Month

National Dengue Awareness Month is observed every June by virtue of Proclamation No. 1204 signed on April 21, 1998 by then President Fidel V. Ramos. According to the latest data from the Department of Health, 33,760 dengue cases were reported nationwide from Jan. 1 to May 6 this year. The figure is 31.9 percent lower compared to the same period last year. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
