DOH eyes more clinics for quitters

/ 12:17 AM May 24, 2017

Following a nationwide smoking ban in public places, the Department of Health (DOH) is considering the expansion of its smoking cessation program in anticipation of many smokers quitting the vice.

DOH spokesperson Enrique Tayag stressed the need to establish smoking cessation clinics to cater to quitters of the smoking habit.

“With the executive order, we really need to put up more smoking cessation clinics especially if we expect more to stop smoking,” he said.

Last week, President Duterte signed an executive order for the establishment of smoke-free areas in public places and public transportation.
