Bus driver shot dead in North Cotabato

KIDAPAWAN CITY, Cotabato – A driver of Mindanao Star bus was shot dead by two unidentified gunmen while the vehicle was heading for Davao City on Friday.
The victim, Jessie Taray of Barangay (village) Malasila, Makilala, North Cotabato was shot in the head and chest at about 4:30 a.m.
The Makilala police said the two suspects boarded the bus here and upon reaching Barangay Malasila, one of them told the driver to pull over as they were getting off the bus.
As the two men passed by the driver, one of them pulled a caliber .45 pistol and shot him in the head.
A witness said the suspects appeared to be professional guns-for-hire, who fled aboard a waiting motorbike.
Police believed the murder was triggered by a personal grudge./rga
