TV host gets death threats

A television host is allegedly receiving death threats from the husband of her former housemaid.

Phoemela Baranda, 32, of Makati City, went to the Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit on Saturday afternoon to report that since November 3, she had been receiving death threats from a certain Romeo Eguia.

In her complaint, Baranda said the suspect is the husband of her former maid Margie, who left her employ on November 3 without her knowledge.

Police record showed that the threatening text messages started hours after her housemaid left Baranda’s house in Makati City.

The first text came at around 8:30 in the evening of November 3 with the texter identifying himself as Eguia.

The police record also indicated that the threatening messages originated from two different numbers.

Senior Police 0fficer 4 Ding Pascual said Baranda filed the complaint as a precautionary measure in case of any untoward incident.
