Robin Padilla’s lawyer named gov’t corporate counsel

President Duterte has appointed a trial court lawyer who was able to win cases for famous clients like actors Robin Padilla and Joey Marquez as the government’s corporate counsel.

Malacañang released on Monday the appointment paper of Rudolf Philip Jurado dated April 18.

Jurado, who earned his law degree in the University of the East, is the son of the late Court of Appeals Justice Desiderio Jurado.

He has served as one of the associate lawyers of the late Dean Antonio Coronel.

In his prepared resumé, the 53-year-old Jurado listed prominent clients he represented.

He represented Padilla who was charged with illegal possession of firearms in 1993.

He also was responsible for the acquittal and exoneration of the cases filed against Marquez, then Paranaque City mayor.

Jurado also served as legal adviser for actress Anne Curtis.
